It feels like it wasn't too long ago when I was watching the FIFA World Cup series, yet the tournament has already rolled around again in 2026. After catching a glimpse of one of the matches in downtown Vaduz, my travel buddy and I walked to Liechtenstein's only McDonald's outlet to satisfy our curiosity about the menu, and of course, how much a meal would cost us.
The M Bacon (Medium Meal) with McFizz CHF 21.20 (~S$33.95)
The M Bacon - Taste: 8.5/10
Fries - Taste: 8/10
McFizz Mango and Passion Fruit - Taste: 8/10
It was a high price to pay indeed, but ultimately pretty satisfying. The fries were notably crispy, though a tad over-salted. I'd totally forgotten to request them without salt. As for the McFizz, it was refreshing without being overly sweet, though I couldn't help but feel it would've benefited from a touch of acidity to lift the overall profile.
The M Bacon turned out to be a properly loaded burger. I must say that the two Alpine beef patties, sandwiched between warm buns made of IP-SUISSE wheat flour, were undeniably fresh and juicy. They were accompanied by Swiss bacon, melted cheese, crispy onions, pickles and lettuce, all brought together with a kind of creamy sauce whose slight acidity balanced the richness of the meat.
Chicken Paprika Burger (Small Meal) CHF 9.50 (~S$15.20)
Chicken Paprika Burger - Taste: 7/10
The less expensive burger was a decent choice, though not as memorable as The M Bacon for sure. The mildly seasoned chicken patty noticeably fresher than many of its counterparts I've had elsewhere. The paprika sauce, though neither bold in flavour nor did it carry much heat, contributed a gentle sweetness with subtle smoky undertones.
McFlurry Golden Caramel Coconut CHF 4.60 (~S$7.35)
Taste: 8/10
To end the meal on a sweet note, we shared an interesting McFlurry variant. Swirls of vanilla soft serve were paired with a generous amount of caramel sauce, bringing plenty of buttery sweetness to the dessert. The addition of crunchy coconut pieces added a pleasant textural contrast to the smooth ice cream. Pika's advice: Want a bigger portion? Add CHF 1.00 (~S$1.60) to upsize your McFlurry!
Melon's Rating
Taste: 8/10
Ambience: 8/10
Overall: 8/10
As it was hardly crowded, we enjoyed a quiet and comfortable meal. BTW, the outlet comes with its own covered parking area.
