SIN: 5 Drunken Rabbits
Mouth-watering rosemary chicken with mushroom sauce!
Situated within a serene vicinity of Pasir Ris Park, 5 Drunken Rabbits is open all year round, including on public holidays. Having been in operation since April 2012, the bistro is a great chill out place with a decent selection of food and beverages. Does anyone know the story behind the name of the bistro?
I'd certainly love to tell you, but I don't know myself and am certainly interested to find out about it.

Deep-Fried Pork Belly in Fermented Beancurd Sauce S$8.80
Taste: 7/10
As I wasn't particularly interested in the appetiser items, I decided to sample one of the finger food items. The pork belly, having an adequate amount of fats, had been marinated in fermented beancurd sauce before being subjected to the deep fryer. Each slice was a tad sweet and a tad salty, and it could be moister.
Al Funghi Spaghetti S$14.80
Taste: 7.5/10
Tossed with light cream sauce, the spaghetti topped with shaved parmesan cheese was enjoyable, even though it could be cooked just a little bit longer to achieve the al dente state. Nevertheless, the triple mushrooms and onions were pretty earthy and juicy. Pika's advice: You may want to opt for linguine in place of spaghetti.
Char-Grilled Marinated Rosemary Chicken S$16.80
Taste: 8.5/10
The boneless chicken leg served with velvety mushroom sauce was executed well, being delectably succulent with truly crispy skin attached. It was accompanied by a few red skin potatoes, which was hidden underneath the protein, as well as broccoli and baby carrots that were naturally sweet.
Mango Panna Cotta Sundae S$7.80
Taste: 7/10
To end off the dinner, I went for the panna cotta (lit. cooked cream) that had a somewhat velvety texture, but not the best I've ever encountered. That was my very first time having mango-flavoured panna cotta with a scoop of strawberry ice cream, but the combination of flavours was by no means bad.
Melon's Rating
Taste: 7.5/10
Ambience: 8/10
Service: 7/10
Overall: 7.5/10
That was a peaceful dinner after literally a walk in the park, away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
