BGM: Chez Leon
Serving mussels all the way since 1893!
Here's another city to add to the list: Brussels, Belgium! As we hadn't had a proper lunch earlier, we decided to have an early dinner at Chez Leon, a well-known restaurant that has stood the test of time near Floris Arlequin Grand Place Hotel where we were staying at.
We decided to sit outdoor, having our dinner while watching the world go by.

Fish Soup €9.95 (~S$15.85)
Taste: 8/10
A piping hot soup that came first before everything else warmed my heart and whetted my appetite. The fish broth was adequately rich, as well as thick enough for my liking. It came with crispy bread, grated cheese and orange-coloured aioli with quite a strong garlic aroma.
Frog Legs with Garlic €13.55 (~S$21.60)
Taste: 8.5/10
I love eating frog legs, but that was my very first experience with them done Western style. I noticed that the amphibian legs, which were tender and juicy, were fried prior to being tossed with olive oil seasoned with garlic and herbs. They were accompanied by an equally juicy tomato and some greens.
Mussel Casserole (Special) €23.85 (~S$38.05)
Taste: 8/10
Of course, we wouldn't want to give the Belgian specialty of mussels and fries a miss. We shared a pot of 800 g of mussels cooked in butter, celery and onions. I was hoping that each of the mussels would be bigger, but they were pretty juicy nonetheless. I'd prefer the non-salted fries to be crispier though.
Belgian Chocolate Mousse €6.35 (~S$10.15)
Taste: 8/10
Besides that, I also wouldn't want to leave the restaurant without trying its homemade chocolate mousse, given that I was already at the capital of chocolate. The dessert was gratifying enough due to the fact that it was pretty airy and velvety. It wasn't as rich as I thought it'd be though.

Overall: 7.5/10
There are a few branches in Paris, France that go by the name Leon de Bruxelles. Pika's advice: Be delighted to know that the restaurant offers all-you-can-eat mussels every Sunday evening! I'm not sure of the price though.
