BGM: Diamond Lounge @ Brussels Airport (Schengen Area)

Thumbs up only for the cream soup in a lion head bowl~

At last, we'd be heading to our last holiday destination: Helsinki, Finland. We weren't hungry while waiting for our flight that'd depart at 7.20pm from Brussels Airport. However, scared that our stomachs would grumble later before going to bed, we decided to use our Priority Pass membership to check out Diamond Lounge at the Schengen Area.

We had a light dinner at the lounge. I recall the buffet spread wasn't huge.

Creamy Potato Soup

Ladled into a rather fanciful bowl was piping hot soup that was enjoyably thick and creamy. It came with potato cubes that weren't overly soft.

Assorted Stuff

To say that the best item on the plate was the slice of ham studded with herbs must be telling to you. It was unfortunate that the rigatoni with pesto sauce was quite tough and dry. The potato salad wasn't that rich, while the carrot salad with feta and olives didn't have much taste.

Liege Waffle

To my disappointment, the waffle was hard, although the exterior was somewhat crispy. I had half of it with Nutella and the other half with honey.

Fruits & Cheese

The honeydew and cantaloupe cubes could be fresher, but they were acceptably sweet. I also took a slice of brie cheese.

Cappuccino & Tonic Water

Thankfully, the cappuccino was aromatic enough, to which I added some mocha cream. I had it with a small speculoos biscuit. Besides that, I also tried a bottle of Nordic Mist tonic water that was first introduced by The Coca Cola Company in 1992.

Melon's Rating
Taste: 5/10
Ambience: 6.5/10
Overall: 5.5/10

At least I had a bowl of soup that was more than decent. Pika's advice: To make the experience worthwhile, I suppose it's best to just go for the booze.
