BGM: Friterie Tabora
'Andalouse' and 'Samourai' have nothing to do with Andalusia and Japan! :P
For the uninitiated, the origin of the so-called French fries has been traced back to Belgium, not France. Considering a few famous fries shops in Brussels, my BFF and I decided to patronise Friteria Tabora that's located near the central square called Grand Place.

Fries + Fricadelle Menu €6.00 (~S$9.60)
The shop offers a set meal that includes fries with a choice of sauce, frikandel and a canned drink.
Fricadelle (Set Menu)
Taste: 7.5/10
It might appear like a rather dehydrated sausage, but the Flemish sausage-shaped meatball made of minced pork was pretty tasty. Granted, it'd be better if it were to be moister.
Fries with Sauce (Set Menu)
Fries - Taste: 9/10
Andalouse Sauce - Taste: 8.5/10
The fries met my expectation as they weren't only airy and crispy, but also didn't leave a greasy feeling. The sauce made of mayonnaise, tomato sauce and roasted bell peppers were quite addictive, thanks to its smoky aroma. Pika's advice: If you're thinking of trying out different types of sauce, don't forget to ask the server to serve the sauce in a small cup.
Samourai Sauce €0.50 (~S$0.80)
Taste: 7.5/10
To go with the remaining fries that were untouched by the orange-coloured sauce, we had a cup of Japanese-sounding sauce out of curiosity. Made of mayonnaise, ketchup and harissa (Tunisian hot chili pepper paste), it tasted somewhat tangy and spicy.
Melon's Rating
Taste: 8/10
Look at how the fries were skilfully prepared.
Share your favourite sauce in the comment section, will you? :)
