SIN: Café Coco

A satisfying brunch after exploring the Cloud Forest for the first time!

Café Coco is an all-day brunch eatery serving a selection of sweet and savoury dishes, which is nestled inside SuperTree Food Hall at Gardens by the Bay. It also concocts its own bottled cold brew drinks, such as French Lavender Latte priced at S$8.00 and its earl grey tea counterpart, which makes use of TWG tea and costs a dollar more than the former.

Before heading to the Flower Dome, my BFF and I sat down at the food court for a quick meal.

Rosemary Chicken Sandwich S$13.90
Taste: 8/10

For the savoury dish, we shared a sandwich featuring grilled chicken on warm, crunchy sourdough bread spread with butter. Topped with a kind of mild-tasting mayonnaise-based sauce and dried rosemary, the white meat was tender and juicy. It was accompanied by a side salad that was fresh.

Sea Salt Caramel Waffles S$13.90
Taste: 8.5/10

I was swooned by the rich aroma of the brown butter waffles, which were presented on a round plate with such aesthetics, the moment I collected them from the counter. Besides the delightful sea salt caramel sauce, there was a fun mish-mash of textures from the waffles, caramel popcorns, speculoos biscuit crumbs and the vanilla ice cream.

Toasted Hazelnut Latte (Iced) S$7.00
Taste: 7.5/10

As I didn't have my cup of coffee in the morning, I decided to go for one of the iced latte drinks. It was a more-than-decent combination of espresso and steamed milk that was pretty smooth and creamy. I felt that the hazelnut flavour could be stronger, but it was quite an enjoyable drink nonetheless for my caffeine fix.

Summer Peach Tea S$5.90
Taste: 8/10

Typically I'm not so excited about peach tea, but Café Coco's version turned out to be such an invigorating drink on a hot afternoon. Even though it featured canned peach slices instead of fresh ones, the iced black tea was more robust and fragrant than expected. Topped with a few mint leaves, it was adequately sweet.

Melon's Rating
Taste: 8/10

I shall try the lavender-infused bottled beverages soon. Pika's advice: Take note that for selected beverages - Creamy White Latte, Pink Salt Chocolate and Midnight Mocha, there are alternative milk options, such as soy and almond milk.
