SIN: Aoy's Thai Noodle Bar

Image
Lovely sticky rice dessert with such a sweet mango! More often than not, I find myself craving for Thai mango sticky rice. Given that I was wandering about Changi Airport Terminal 3, I decided to have lunch at the eye-catching Aoy's Thai Noodle Bar that whips up some street food commonly found in the Land of Smiles.

SIN: Desa Kartika

Image
The first two dishes were delicious, but not the next two... Hi, everyone! I'm back from my overseas trip. As I'm still in the process of tidying up the photos that I took, let's continue talking about eateries in Singapore for now. Desa Kartika is a restaurant at The Centrepoint that's owned by a group bearing the same name. The group, which was established in 2013, also operates a restaurant called Pondok Kartika at Changi City Point.

SIN: Maharajah

Image
Not quite what a king would've expected... The Maharajah brand was first established here in Singapore in 1986. It's also the first Indian restaurant to offer delivery of North Indian dishes under the banner of Dial-a-Curry. Even though the branch at Cuppage Terrace has closed down recently, the one at Clarke Quay is still going strong.

SIN: YOLO [Delivery]

Image
"Eat your goals!" Food kiosks offering healthier choices have been mushrooming lately. One brand that has been around since 2013 is YOLO at Icon Village that's not far from Tanjong Pagar MRT station. It's Halal -certified.

SIN: Tendon Kohaku

Image
The most popular 'tendon' place in Singapore? Situated on the third floor of Suntec City Mall is Eat @ Seven, a Japanese dining concept that houses seven eateries. A long queue is usually seen at one of them, namely Tendon Kohaku. Who could resist neatly arranged  tempura  (Japanese battered and deep-fried assortments) on a bed of rice?

SIN: Yunnan Garden Restaurant

Image
Deep-fried baby squid that went wrong... Yunnan Garden Restaurant is a Chinese restaurant located at the Galaxis complex of Fusionopolis. Its history dates back to the 1970s as a cafeteria serving staff and students of Nanyang University, which was eventually merged with University of Singapore to form the current National University of Singapore.

SIN: The Burger Bar by Fatboy's

Image
Locally born burgers that have gone to Kuala Lumpur, Phnom Penh and Beijing! Many of my friends have been talking about how good Fatboy's burgers are. Last week, I managed to drop by The Burger Bar by Fatboy's at Far East Plaza, which I think offers a smaller menu. It was pretty hard for me to decide on which burger to try, but since I was with a friend, I could taste two varieties.

SIN: Tomo Izakaya

Image
Bouncy jelly with concentrated plum wine syrup! A Japanese pub that serves quite a huge variety of dishes and beverages, Tomo Izakaya at Clarke Quay has got an interesting vibe with an eye-catching decoration of a tree made of bottles inside the establishment. One fine Saturday evening, I had an early dinner at around 6.00pm.

SIN: Hot Star Large Fried Chicken

Image
How's the award-winning Taiwanese deep-fried chicken in Singapore? Hot Star Large Fried Chicken is a well-known snack shop at Shilin Night Market in Taipei, Taiwan that serves huge chicken cutlets sought after by many visitors. It was set up in 1999, but its history actually dates back to 1992 somewhere in Taichung. Does anyone know if the original shop is still operating?

SIN: Teppei Syokudo [Delivery]

Image
DIY seafood don with rice or salad as a base~ A spin-off to the popular Teppei Japanese Restaurant at Orchid Hotel, Teppei Syokudo offers diners the opportunity to customise their own seafood bowl. There are a few branches around, but I'm not sure if all of them offers customisation. The one that definitely does so is at ION Orchard.
