QAT: Chapati & Karak
Sweet and/or savoury 'chapati' for you?
If you're looking for a place to grab a bite, a drink or both while exploring Katara Cultural Village in Doha, Qatar, look no further than Chapati & Karak. It's a renowned café serving, well, chapati (Indian unleavened flatbread) and karak chai, which is milk tea infused with spices.
Interestingly, there's a branch in London, the UK at 144 Brompton Road.

Chapati with Honey QAR 5.00 (~S$1.85)
Taste: 8/10
I enjoyed the texture of the rolled chapati that was made-to-order. Its outer layer was crispy, but overall it was nicely chewy. I was hoping to have a bit more of the sweet honey.
Chapati with Egg and Cheese QAR 8.00 (~S$2.95)
Taste: 8.5/10
For something savoury, you may want to try the egg and cheese chapati. Lightly seasoned with salt and pepper, the egg was done omelette style. It came with a generous amount of melted cheese.
Karak (Large) QAR 5.00 (~S$1.85)
Taste: 7.5/10
Served piping hot, the karak chai was smooth and undoubtedly fragrant. I could taste the robustness of the spices from the first sip. However, I felt that the amount of sugar could be reduced. It grew too sweet towards the end. Pika's advice: I've never tried Karak Coffee, but if you're interested, you can try their iced-only version for a price of QAR 15.00 (~S$5.55).
