SIN: Simply Wrapps

Five different choices of tortillas for your wraps!

Simply Wrapps is one of my favourite DIY wrap stores, although I've never actually DIY since I always go for the fixed creations. Boasting a selection of 5 tortillas, 50 nutritious ingredients and 18 house dressings to choose from, it's the first Halal-certified salad chains in Singapore.

The wraps are huge and thus filling.

Great Wall (Spinach Wrap) S$12.50
Taste: 8.5/10

Enclosed within the walls of the spinach-fortified wrap was a combination of roast beef, romaine lettuce, mushrooms, green peppers, broccoli and celery. Drizzled with tangy hoisin (Chinese sauce made of starch, soybeans, vinegar, etc.) vinaigrette, the beef slices were tender and the vegetables were juicy.

Journey to Norway (Tomato Basil Wrap) S$12.50
Taste: 8/10

Journeying in a slightly sweet and sour tomato basil wrap into my stomach was a mix of smoked salmon, mesclun leaves, green peppers, beetroots, cherry tomatoes, broccoli. Flavoured with balsamic vinaigrette, it was a good wrap, though the smoked salmon could be smokier.

Korean Grilled Striploin Soba Bowl S$11.90
Taste: 7.5/10

On one of the occasions, I decided to try a non-wrap item. I enjoyed the grilled striploin that was tender and flavourful enough, while the kimchi (Korean dish made of fermented cabbages) was piquant alright Alas, the cold soba (Japanese buckwheat noodle) wasn't really springy. The sesame ginger dressing was executed well.

Melon's Rating
Taste: 8/10
Ambience: 7/10
Overall: 7.5/10

The store also serves a range of breakfast and tea break items. Pika's advice: For those who love the aroma of lemongrass, do try the Lemongrass Wrap.
