SIN: GOPIZZA
Yummy pizza, but too sweet a spaghetti dish...
Born as a food truck store in Seoul's Yeouido Night Goblin Market in 2016, GOPIZZA rapidly expanded to 30 pop-up stores at top department stores across South Korea within half a year. Today, it has surpassed 100 outlets in four countries. I found myself compelled to try its offerings when I was at Suntec City Mall.
At first glance, the pizza looked particularly appetising.
Meat Mania Pizza S$13.90
Taste: 8/10
Looking at the premium selections, I decided to go for the carnivorous option instead of the seafood and vegetarian ones. With a base of tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese, the pizza topped with beef pepperoni, beef bulgogi, turkey bacon and cheddar cheese was flavourful. The pizza dough was soft and crunchy at the same time, offering an effortlessly biteable texture.
Fire Cheese Chicken Pasta S$10.90
Taste: 5/10
The spaghetti baked with chili cream sauce chili cream sauce and mozzarella cheese didn't align with my taste preferences as it turned out to be overly sweet. The fried chicken tossed with spicy sauce, accompanied with corn and onions, delivered a level of heat that was intense enough to make me sweat.
Chocolate Lava Cake S$6.50
Taste: 8/10
It wasn't any sugary drinks, but a treat made with Belgian chocolate that I needed to soothe the remnants of any lingering spiciness on the palate. I enjoyed the light and moist cake containing gooey chocolate sauce that was rich enough. It was an indulgent finale that provided a satisfying sweetness without being cloying.
Melon's Rating
Taste: 7/10
Ambience: 6.5/10
Overall: 6.5/10
It appears that GOPIZZA has started using artificial intelligence technology in its ovens and topping tables. Pika's advice: You may want to consider their Combo Meals that come with side dish(es) and drink(s).
