New offerings for the better!
From today onwards, I shall populate the blog with my overseas food adventure in December 2018. I flew with Batik Air again from Singapore to Jakarta, Indonesia and back. The airline has recently improved its snack offerings, which include one savoury item and one sweet item.
ID Meal #1
Focaccia Chicken Sandwich - Taste: 7.5/10
Even though it wasn't really focaccia bread, I enjoyed the savoury snack filled with shredded chicken and naturally sweet onions. It was topped with an adequate amount of cheese.
Pandan Choco Muffin - Taste: 7/10
While the colour of the pandan muffin studded with chocolate chips might not look appetising, it tasted good enough for me. Being mildly sweet, it could definitely be more fragrant.
Beverages
One of the cabin crew distributed the snack boxes, while another one gave out cups filled with mineral water. They served coffee and tea much later, but I didn't request for any.
ID Meal #2
Cheese Chicken Pizza - Taste: 7.5/10
Served hot, the rectangular pizza bun was a delight to have. The minced chicken was quite flavourful, topped with a rather generous amount of cheese that was surprisingly very stringy.
Vanilla Choco Muffin - Taste: 6/10
It was somewhat similar to the muffin served from Singapore to Jakarta. However, the one that I had on the way back to Singapore wasn't as moist. The vanilla taste could be stronger too.
Beverages
Just like in the previous flight, I only had a cup of mineral water. Pika's advice: Should you wish to have some coffee or tea, do be alert when the cabin crew are making their rounds as they walk down the aisle pretty fast.
