SIN: Paradise Classic [Delivery]
Deliciously sweet imperial pork ribs!
Managed by the Paradise Group, Paradise Classic aims to get everyone to "appreciate nostalgic tastes in modern times." At the point of writing, there are three branches of Paradise Classic. I've never dined in at any one of them, but I ordered some dishes from the branch at Marina Bay Link Mall from the comfort of my home.

Rice Set E S$14.80
Imperial Pork Ribs - Taste: 8.5/10
Sliced Fish with Ginger and Spring Onion - Taste: 8/10
French Beans - Taste: 7.5/10
The restaurant offers value-for-money rice sets that allow you to sample some of the dishes in one go without having to order them separately. I had egg fried rice with succulent pork ribs, as well as fresh sliced fish with an adequate amount of ginger and spring onions that made the dish fragrant. The stir-fried French beans with preserved turnips and dried shrimps were tasty, but I was hoping for the greens to be crunchier.
Stewed Pork Belly Served with Lotus Bun S$6.40
Taste: 8/10
As if the main course wasn't enough, I also had the sinful Hokkien classic of stewed pork belly topped with coriander leaves. The meat was tender with a nice aroma of ngo hiang (Chinese five-spice powder consisting of cloves, star anise, fennel seeds, cinnamon and Sichuan pepper), going well with the fluffy buns.
Coconut Sago with Glutinous Rice Dumplings S$4.00
Taste: 8/10
I rarely order a dessert dish from home, but I just wanted to have something warm and sweet that evening. The rice dumplings were delectably chewy, while the sago pearls weren't too small in size for my liking. They were swimming in coconut cream that had a nice consistency without being excessively rich in taste.
Melon's Rating
Taste: 8/10
Has anyone of you booked a table for Chinese New Year reunion dinner at Paradise Classic? Pika's advice: Since the restaurant is famous for its double-boiled soup variants, you may want to order some.
