UGA: Hotel Ruch Kampala [Breakfast]

Cheesy and spicy omelette for breakfast!

Hotel Ruch Kampala (3*) was where my BFF and I stayed for three nights in the capital city of Uganda. Cooked-to-order breakfast is served at the nondescript dining hall every morning, along with a very simple buffet table that has bread, yogurt, fruits and beverages.

Assorted Stuff

I had a plate of omelette with baked beans and bacon, while my BFF had scrambled eggs. The omelette was moist with a generous amount of cheese, ham and chili slices, which made it pretty spicy. The scrambled eggs, however, weren't as moist.

Potato Wedges

We also decided to have a plate of potato wedges to share. Made from scratch, the potato wedges might look simple, but they were amazingly soft pillows with lightly crispy outer layer. They were seasoned with just a bit of salt.

Bread

I toasted a slice of bread, having it with butter and strawberry jam.

Fruits & Yogurt

The rockmelon, watermelon and pineapple slices were acceptably fresh. In addition, there were bananas, which I didn't take. I found the mildly sweet vanilla-flavoured yogurt to be quite aromatic.

Coffee & Fruit Juice

It was a pity that the coffee wasn't strong enough for me. There were two variants of freshly squeezed juice available: passion fruit and watermelon.

Melon's Rating
Taste: 7/10
Ambience: 5/10
Overall: 6/10

The cooked items available for the day are written on a whiteboard. Pika's advice: You can also request for spring rolls vegetable samosas and French toast.
