CAN: Northface Bistro [Breakfast]

Can you say no to DIY waffle station?

While my BFF and I were staying in Banff, Canada for 4D3N, we set aside one day to go to Lake Louise. We took advantage of the Ride & Breakfast Package priced at C$39.95 (~S$41.50) per adult, which allowed us to get return tickets on Lake Louise Gondola and enjoy filling buffet breakfast at Northface Bistro.

Assorted Stuff #1

Almost everything on the plate tasted great. First and foremost, the herb-roasted tomatoes were really sweet and juicy. I also enjoyed the roasted baby potatoes and the pork sausage. It was good that the cold cuts weren't salty. As for the scrambled eggs, they could be made creamier.

Assorted Stuff #2

Even though it wasn't crispy, the pastry filled with cream and blueberry jam was enjoyable. The chocolate muffin was addictive due to its rich flavour and moist centre. The fruits might not be utterly fresh, but they were juicy.

Belgian Waffle

There's a DIY waffle station at the restaurant. It took about three minutes to make one. Topping the waffle with maple syrup and a bit of butter, I enjoyed its adequately fluffy texture.

Beverages

The iced sweet tea had a tinge of lemon juice in it, while the lemonade could be slightly sourer to balance its level of sweetness. I waited quite long for them to refill the coffee, which turned out to be of average strength.

Melon's Rating
Taste: 8/10
Ambience: 8/10
Overall: 8/10

The bistro is also open for lunch. Pika's advice: Besides the Ride & Breakfast Package, there's Gondola & Gourmet Package that includes a return ticket on Lake Louise Gondola and a C$25.00 (~S$25.95) F&B gift card. The latter costs C$57.95 (~S$60.15) per adult.
